"He Forgives Everything!"

This morning my children had the opportunity to go over to a new neighbor's home and shovel the walks for her after a dusting of overnight snow. The neighbor - who is new to our part of town - came over and asked my husband if our kids could shovel her walk. She promised to pay - but my husband refused and told her they would be glad to do it for nothing.

They were so excited about this new job. (It seems it is far more exciting to shovel snow on a neighbor's sidewalk rather than on your own sidewalk.) They hurried out - all bundled up and ready for the awaiting job. The last thing I heard as they headed out the door with grabbing their gloves was, "This is great maybe we will be able to invite her to the cantata on Sunday!"

My youngest daughter was able to start to chat with the neighbor and had the opportunity to share Christ. She asked her if she knew the Lord as her Savior. The lady told her that she did not and that she knew that she was not headed to Heaven. My Abbey told her that she could go to Heaven. To this, the lady told her that she had done a lot of bad things in her life. She seemed to be saying to Abbey that she had done far more than would ever be allowed one headed to Heaven. It was then that Abbey told her - "That does not matter to God, He forgives everything!"

Praise the Lord He does! Where would I be today if He didn't forgive it all! "Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow."
His birth - Breathtaking!
His death - Priceless!

Rejoicing in His Forgiveness,

Tokens of Friendship

Kelli over at "There's No Place Like Home" hosts a show and tell every Friday. Hop on over and see her special treasures along with links from others who participate in this fun little activity!

I thought this Friday I would show you some gifts I recently received from a couple of friends.

First, my friend Melissa (Hi Melissa!), came for a visit. We had a wonderful time together, even though it was just for a short afternoon. She came bearing gifts - and I loved each one of them.

First was some small plates with snowmen on them. I really really like snow men and she knows it. I have enjoyed using the plates for small little snacks in the evening.

She also sent me some hot chocolate. Except this not your everyday hot chocolate - it is WHITE chocolate hot chocolate. I love the container that it came in and will keep it for my snowmen collection.
She also sent me this adorable snow man. I think he looks like a marshmallow that has melted into a snowman. What do you think? He now has a loving home and fits in well with his other snowmen friends here!
Melissa also sent me some small cookie cutters. She thought they would go along with my collection. I could not believe that she found a small little mitten to match my big one. I love each one of these little things!!

My other gift that I wanted to share with you is a clock. We recently had dinner with a couple that we have come to know quite well with the ministry here. As we get ready to leave and head out on the road with the new ministry, they wanted to give us something to remind us of them. A clock seemed the perfect gift from them - as it represents the time that we have spent together. I will cherish it and the memories of our friendship.

It is such a blessing to have friends with whom we can share life. I am so thankful for the many friends God has brought into my life.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a great weekend.

Sounds of the Season

We started out the week with fresh snow covering everything. I think they said when it was all done we got about 7.5 inches of the white stuff. It was wonderful. We got a bit of a dusting yesterday too. It's really feeling like Christmas!

On Tuesday night we went caroling to area residents. It was a wonderful time to go and sing carols house to house and hand out goodies to the people who were home to listen. It was a perfect night for it too! The snow was lightly falling, the air was cold - but not frigid. I do not know how many houses we went to; but I think it was around 15 or so.

We were greeted at some of the homes we visited by elderly folks who clearly enjoyed the visitors on their front porch. My daughter said to me as we were walking away from one of these homes, "Mom, what if one of the people we visit tonight was having a bad day - and then we come and sing to them and they forget about their day - I really like this..." I had to agree with her there - it truly was a blessing!

We arrived back at the church with cold cheeks and noses; but hearts full and warm. Hot cocoa and lively stories warmed up the extremities.

What a beautiful night we had together.

Trust you are having a good week. Thanks so much for stopping by.
